Leonardo Capalbo leads Candide with London Symphony Orchestra
Capalbo stars as the title character in Candide for Bernstein 100 Celebration
The London Symphony Orchestra, led my Marin Alsop, will present two performances of Candide to celebrate the centennial of composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein. Leonardo Capalbo stars as the title character along side Jane Archibald, Anne Sofie von Otter and Sir Thomas Allen.
Performances run December 8 & 9 at the Barbican Hall in London.
Leonardo Capalbo has previously sung Candide at the Berlin State Opera and the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma to critical acclaim. The Financial Times called him “lithe, sunny and effortlessly lyrical,” while Opera News praised “his easy good looks and bright, yearning voice.”
