Gloriana Premieres at Teatro Real Madrid; World Opera Forum

Leonardo Capalbo stars as Robert, Earl of Essex, in David McVicar's new production of Benjamin Britten's Gloriana April 12th through 24th at the Teatro Real Madrid. Conducted by music director Ivor Bolton, the rarely seen Gloriana is led by famed soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci as Elizabeth I. The production will be the focal point of the inaugural World Opera Forum, a joint venture by Teatro Real Madrid, Opera Europa, Opera America, and Opera Latinoamérica to advance the art form.

Leonardo previously appeared at the Teatro Real in the Spanish premiere of Daniel Catan's Il Postino.
